What is New Song Church Kids Camp?

New Song Church Kids Camp is an adult-mentored, student-led ministry. Campers are cared for by trained high school and college-age small group leaders, support staff, and volunteers, whom adults within the congregation support. As this is a student-led ministry, we are excited to have leaders who will be students ranging from grade 7 to college age. This structure empowers young individuals and fosters collaboration and growth within our community. Expect an action-packed day for kids, which includes Bible Stories, crafts, games, creative movement, songs, and various other activities based on our weekly curriculum. We desire to Connect Young People to God, One Another, and the Community.

AGE-APPROPRIATE GROUP SETTINGS: For activities that are appropriate for them, kids will be organized into small groups based on their age and grade level.

STAFF TO CAMPER RATIO: Small groups may include eight to twelve campers, one staff leader, and one support staff member (e.g., one group may consist of all first graders while another may include both second and third graders).

STAFF: Since this is a student-led ministry, our leaders will consist of students from grade 7 to college and the occasional adult volunteer. These enthusiastic individuals will lead groups of campers or lead or facilitate activities like Bible Study, Crafts, Creative Movement, Games, and activities that fall in their skill set. Staff are required to participate in pre-camp learning, attend staff training, first aid, and CPR classes, acquire babysitting and childcare training, attend all staff meetings, comply with Safe Haven guidelines, and be prepared daily. To ensure the safety and well-being of all camp participants, every staff member aged 18 or older must complete a background check before working or volunteering at the camp.
